Pharping Hydropower The History of using hydropower as a potential source of energy was first recorded during the Han Dynasty of China between the period of 202 BC and 9 AD. Its use was limited to mill grain, pound mineral ore, and pulp paper products. In the late 19th Century, Hydropower was used in harnessing electricity.
